Although the piles of snow still sitting around the Chicagoland area don’t show it, warm weather is almost here in the Midwest. And if the number of new lemonade drinks currently being launched in the market is any indication, the beverage industry is ready for the shift — along with the rest of us.
TalkingRain Beverage Co. announced that it will release new Sparkling Ice Peach Lemonade and Mango Lemonade drinks this spring or summer. These new varieties are additions to the brand’s Sparkling Ice Lemonade lineup, which launched last summer.
“While lemonade is a classic, even nostalgic drink, the beverage industry is seeing a surge of growth in products featuring lemonade, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this trend,” said Kevin Klock, chief executive officer of TalkingRain Beverage Co., in a statement.
Campbell Soup Co. also recently introduced its V8 Splash in Lemonade and Strawberry Lemonade varieties.
The warm-weather favorite also will make an appearance outside of the juice category this year. PepsiCo Inc. recently debuted a new line of Brisk Half & Half drinks, which follow the trend of tea-and-lemonade combinations. The beverages are available in Iced Tea & Lemonade, Iced Tea & Cherry Limeade, and Iced Tea & Tropical Lemonade varieties. Furthermore, Vita Coco infused its coconut water with lemonade to create Vita Coco Lemonade. Timed with its 10th anniversary, the new beverage will be available at grocery stores nationwide in April.
As “April showers bring May flowers,” hopefully these lemonade introductions will corral the warm weather back to the Midwest.
