Amara Beverage Co. replaced its previous canned Amara Recovery beverage with its new Amara fruit drink. Showcasing the company’s new branding to better align itself with the CrossFit athletic movement as well as the natural channel, the carbonated raw fruit beverage combines cold filling technologies and an age-old wine industry dosing system to achieve shelf stability while keeping the fruits raw, the company says. Amara blends coffee and maqui berries and contains electrolytes, vitamins and minerals to hydrate, energize and protect the body, it says. With 30 calories and 4 grams of agave nectar in each serving, Amara targets health-conscious consumers who are seeking healthful and functional benefits without the calories and sugars found in many other sports drinks, it adds. A 16-ounce bottle has a suggested retail price of $2.89.
