Terry Laboratories has developed a new way to grow, harvest and process aloe vera with the introduction of its NaturLock System. Through the NaturLock System, the company is able to retain a large percentage of total polysaccharides as well as a molecular weight distribution that more closely mimics what is found in nature, says Mick Anderson, director of sales for Terry Laboratories. This is significant because for many years, scientists have agreed that the acetylated polymannan polysaccharides are responsible for much of the biological activity reported in scientific literature, he adds. The first products introduced under the NaturLock System will be its Aloe Vera Gel 1X and Aloe Vera Gel 10X materials, the company says. As the company implements further improvements in spray drying and freeze drying feedstock, it will add those powders to the system lineup, it adds. The company also supplies HPLC-SEC scans with every shipment.
