Anheuser-Busch, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, entered the U.S. cider market with Stella Artois Cidre. Stella Artois Cidre is a European-style cider made with apples hand-picked from wine-growing regions in North and South America, the company says. With a drier, more savory flavor profile compared with sweeter, domestic U.S. ciders, Stella Artois Cidre offers an alternative to white wine, it adds. At 4.5 percent alcohol by volume, Stella Artois Cidre is available in two packaging configurations: multi-serve 24-ounce bottles and four-packs of 12-ounce bottles. Currently, it is available in 26 U.S. states with further expansion possible in 2014, according to the company.
