The holiday season is a great time of year to reflect on all of the gifts we have in our lives and maybe even share some of those gifts with others.
In the last couple of months, we’ve seen an outpouring of generosity from many beverage companies in response to the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast. From donations of bottled water by companies like Anheuser Busch, Nestlé Waters North America and Essentia Water to financial support from companies like Pernod Ricard USA, The Coca-Cola Co., Starbucks Coffee Co., Heineken USA, PepsiCo and more, beverage companies have shown there are no limits to their sharing and caring.
The generosity has not stopped there. This holiday season, I’ve noticed several beverage companies getting into the spirit by sharing joy through donations.
Kahlúa’s Share the Warmth Facebook campaign has pledged to donate $1 to the One Warm Coat organization for every person who clicks the “Share the Warmth” button on its site or scans the quick-response code on point-of-sale materials at retailers where Kahlúa is sold through Feb. 28, 2013, with a maximum goal of a $100,000 donation. Funds will be used by One Warm Coat to help support its efforts in the promotion of local coat drives and in giving back to communities across the country, the company says.
Both Jack Daniel’s and Wirtz Beverage Group helped to bring troops home for the holidays through $100,000 and $10,000 donations, respectively, to Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home. The initiative identifies service members most in need of financial assistance and offers them travel vouchers for plane tickets and pre-paid debit cards for gas, food and lodging to reunite them with their families for the holidays.
It’s heartwarming to see the amount of caring in the beverage industry as it works together to make the holiday season a joy for all.
