Constellation Brands launched its first sweet, semi-sparkling Moscato Bianco from Ruffino. The Ruffino Moscato d’Asti features grapes harvested in mid-September 2011 from the Asti DOCG region in the southern part of Piedmont, Italy. Fermented in the Charmat method, which preserves the aromas of the grapes, the sparkling wine contains 6 percent alcohol by volume and is characterized by light, effervescent bubbles, the company says. Ruffino Moscato d'Asti features sweet citrus, peach and orange blossom aromas with sage and white stone fruit flavors, it adds. Suggested retail price for a 750-ml. bottle is $15.
