Under its GuS – Grown-up Soda brand, Utmost Brands Inc. launched Dry Root Beer. The newest flavor is an alternative to mainstream root beers, offering all-natural ingredients, less sugar and fewer calories. A 12-ounce bottle contains 95 calories and 40 percent less sugar than mainstream root beers, the company says. Dry Root Beer is made with birch oil, vanilla, clove and other natural spices and extracts, and is lightly sweetened with cane sugar. It is caffeine-free, vegan and kosher, and contains 24 grams of carbohydrates in each bottle. Dry Root Beer is available in 12-ounce glass bottles for about $1.85 each; a four-pack retails for about $5.99.
