Marnier-Lapostolle Inc.’s new Quintessence brand features a blend of vintage cognacs sourced from the Grande Champagne region and special family reserves aged as long as 60 years in French oak vats. The new marque features a double distillation of bitter oranges after maceration to create a smoother, more concentrated orange flavor. Quintessence displays a delicate, fresh, complex, rich and powerful nose with a mellow, round and fresh taste and long, complex aftertaste, the company says. The product will begin hitting shelves in September, selling for $700 a bottle.
