Today, Flag Day, the men and women of Budweiser will take to bars and restaurants around the country to raise awareness for the Folds of Honor Foundation (FHF).
FHF, an organization that provides post-secondary educational scholarships for families of U.S. military personnel killed or disabled while serving their country, is working with Budweiser to raise money for its scholarship program. Budweiser and FHP hope to raise $2 million this summer, which is expected to fund 400 scholarships.
“Helping to provide educational scholarships to military families is one small way we can show our gratitude to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, protecting the freedoms we hold so dear,” said Rob McCarthy, vice president of Budweiser at Anheuser-Busch, in a statement. “The work being done by Folds of Honor is something everyone can get behind.”
Across Arizona, employees of Golden Eagle Distributors Inc. will visit area bars and restaurants where they will share the FHF mission with consumers. The Budweiser Happy Hour is one of the ways Budweiser is promoting and supporting the FHF mission this summer.
Budweiser will feature patriotic cans through July 4, which will be merchandised at retail to raise awareness of FHF and its mission. Budweiser will donate a portion of all sales from May 26 to July 10 to FHF.
Golden Eagle Distributors Inc. also will donate a portion of all Budweiser sales during this time period.
Budweiser will donate $100 to FHF for every home run hit during the 2011 Major League Baseball (MLB) season in its “Here’s to the Heroes” Home Run Program.
Consumers can get involved by visiting the Budweiser Facebook page or texting HERO to 80888 to make a $5 donation to the organization.
