Ottens Flavors, Philadelphia, announced its merger with MK Flavors & Co., Mexico City. The Mexican operation will offer the company an increased market presence in Central and South America and will be renamed MK Ottens Flavors.

Linden, N.J., recently was formed by partners Arthur
Guerrera and Naushad
Lalani. The two have a combined 40 years of
technical, process, source and commercial expertise for the manufacturer of
extracts and ingredients. The company’s core ingredients include pure
and natural vanilla products offered both in conventional and organic forms
with expansions expected into coffee, cocoa and specialty extracts and
ingredients.
The U.K.’s Treatt plc, has opened Treatt China in Shanghai. The office will be managed by Rowan Sham and will support
the company’s existing sales and marketing efforts in the region.
Archer Daniels Midland Co.,
Decatur, Ill., has formed a joint venture with Matsutani
America Inc. to support worldwide sales and
marketing of Fibersol-2. Fibersol-2 is a Matsutani ingredient produced
exclusively at ADM’s Clinton, Iowa, facility since 1999. ADM will
continue to manufacture Fibersol-2 for both Matsutani Chemical and the
joint venture.
International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. has appointed Robert M. Amen chairman of the board and chief executive officer.
Amen most recently served as president of International Paper Co. Arthur
Martinez, interim chairman and chief executive officer at IFF, said,
“Rob is a seasoned executive with a proven ability to strategically
manage and grow businesses around the globe, complemented by significant
sales, marketing and finance experience. We look forward to his leadership
in pursuing new opportunities for IFF.” Martinez will return to his
role as lead director at IFF.
