Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., Plano, Texas,
launched Action Nation, a corporate philanthropy program that focuses on
fostering physically active, engaged and sustainable communities.
The program focuses on four areas: fit and active
lifestyles, environmental initiatives, community celebrations and emergency
relief. By 2015, the company plans to contribute 100,000 volunteer hours and
give $10 million annually in support of those areas, said Tina Barry, senior
vice president of corporate affairs, in a statement.
The company also announced new processes and requirements
for sponsorship and donation requests.
"At DPS, Action is at the heart of everything we do.
Every DPS employee contributes to our success by taking action to meet the
needs of our customers and consumers," Barry said. "Action is also
about giving back to our communities. All across North
America, DPS employees are taking action to improve the
communities in which we live and work."
