The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, celebrated its 124th birthday on Saturday at the 2010 Shanghai World Exposition with a musical performance to unveil the soundtrack of the company’s marketing campaign for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
K’NAAN, an African hip-hop artist, and Chinese pop stars Jacky Cheung and Jane Zhang, performed “Wavin’ Flag – Coca-Cola Celebration Mix” during the Coca-Cola Day celebration. The Chinese version of the song is a remix of the English song by K’NAAN.
"Since 1886 inspiring moments of uplift and happiness everyday has been a part of Coca-Cola's DNA – and the cornerstone of the company's success,” said Glenn Jordan, group president of the company’s Pacific Group, in a statement. “It is this refreshingly optimistic view of the world that unites Coca-Cola and Expo 2010. Both of us share a common vision of creating a brighter, more sustainable future. Therefore we are truly honored to celebrate 'Coca-Cola Day' at Expo 2010 – with Shanghai, with China and with the world.”
The celebration also featured the team from Expedition 206, a group that is visiting all 206 countries and territories where Coca-Cola is sold. The team began its worldwide journey in January and has visited nearly half of the markets where the company’s products are sold.
