Jones Soda Co., Seattle, will distribute its sodas in Wal-Mart’s approximately 3,800 U.S.-based stores. The partnership increases Jones’ total retail outlet distribution by nearly 10 percent, the company said.
Jones will have three shelf facings for an assorted six-pack of Jones Pure Cane Soda containing two bottles each of Green Apple, Berry Lemonade and Cream Soda flavors.
“The primary complaint through our customer service feedback is that people can’t find Jones Soda near them,” said William Meissner, chief executive officer of Jones Soda, in a statement. “The Wal-Mart deal allows for another one of America’s premier retailers to offer Jones. Wal-Mart greatly expands our distribution footprint and truly makes our product accessible to everyone, which is something the Jones Soda brand has always stood for.”
The company tested the variety packs in 750 Wal-Mart stores. The retailer authorized the addition of Jones Soda products in the beginning of May, and Jones expected to have products in nearly all U.S. stores at the end of the month.
