Flavor Unit Entertainment, which is run by Grammy Award winning artist and Oscar-nominated actress Queen Latifah and producer Shakim Compere, has invested in part ownership of New York Spring Water Inc.

Flavor Unit Entertainment is now a part owner of the New York-based beverage company and will be an integral part of the New York Spring Water’s mission to expand internationally, the companies said. The amount of capital investment was not disclosed.

“Latifah and I are really excited about this partnership,” said Flavor Unit Entertainment’s Compere, in a statement. “New York Spring Water is an innovative company and is definitely at the forefront of new product developments in the industry.”

New York Spring Water manufactures a bottled spring water of the same name, VBlast vitamin water, VBee multi-vitamin water for kids and Aqua84 enhanced mineral water. The company recently announced its New York Spring Water products will be available at 7-Eleven convenience stores.
