The Boston Beer Co. added the winner of its Beer Lover’s Choice contest, Revolutionary Rye, to its Samuel Adams American Originals Variety Pack. Revolutionary Rye won the annual Beer Lover’s Choice contest with 63 percent of a nationwide vote, the company says. Revolutionary Rye is an American-style rye ale with a deep, reddish hue. Malt provides a slight roastiness and sweetness that is complemented by floral and citrus notes, it says. The rye imparts additional complexity by adding a spicy, slightly drying finish to the medium-bodied brew, the company says. The beer is one of five beers in the Samuel Adams American Originals Variety Pack, which includes Boston Lager, Noble Pils, Scotch Ale, Irish Red Ale and White Ale. The Variety Pack is available nationwide for $13.99 to $15.99 for each 12-pack.
