Mojito soda
Havana Beverages introduced Havana Mojito. The soda is sweetened with 100 percent cane sugar and packaged in 12-ounce clear glass bottles. The product joins Havana Cola, and both can be used as mixers, the company says. Through an agreement with Amazon.com, a bottle retails for $1.29 and a four-pack for $4.99.
 
New black tea
 
Ito En introduced its first ready-to-drink black tea, Pure Black Darjeeling Tea, to its Teas’ Tea line of RTD teas. The line previously featured only green teas. Teas’ Tea is available in 16.9-ounce PET bottles, and retails for $1.99.
 
Campaign cola
 
Jones Soda Co. introduced Campaign Cola, a line of drinks featuring Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and Republican candidate John McCain. Consumers can purchase the cola online and cast virtual votes for the nominees. Results of the “voting” are updated every 15 minutes. The bottles are available in six-packs for $14.99 and 12-packs for $23.99.
 
12-year-old whisky
 
Diageo introduced Singleton of Glendullan, a 12-year-old single-malt Scotch whisky. The whisky is matured for 12 years in both American Bourbon Oak and European Sherry Oak casks. It is packaged in a 750-ml. glass bottle and retails for $35.99. The product will be available nationwide in the fall.
 
Private label tea
 
Clement Pappas & Co. Inc.introduced a premium private label tea. The line is available in both sweetened and unsweetened varieties, all of which are organic. Each flavor is packaged in a 16-ounce post consumer recycled bottle. PCR bottles contain 30 percent post consumer recycled content, which helps conserve natural resources and reduce greenhouse gases, the company says. Flavors include Raspberry White Tea, Lemon Black Tea, Unsweetened Spearmint Green Tea and Peach Red Tea.
 
White rum
 
Bacardi launched its first hand-crafted, single-barrel finished white rum called Rubi Rey. The liquid is mellowed in white oak barrels for two to three years on the coast of Northern Puerto Rico. The white rum is 86 proof and is packaged in a transparent red bottle with a silver cap. The 750 ml. bottle retails for $19.99.
 
Aloe vera-infused
 
SPI West Port Inc. introduced Alo, an all-natural beverage infused with aloe vera pulp. The aloe-infused product contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids, and is sweetened with fructose and honey. Flavors include Exposed, the original blend; and Awaken, a blend of aloe vera and wheat grass extract. Alo Elated, an aloe vera and olive leaf drink, is in the planning stages. Alo is packaged in 16.9-ounce. and 1.5-liter PET bottles, and retails for $1.99 and $3.99, respectively.
 
Enhanced drinks
 
CytoSport, makers of Muscle Milk, introduced Cytomax Performance Enhanced Drink. The drink contains alpha-l-polylactate to boost energy, stamina and endurance, the company says. It is offered in seven flavors: Herbal Lift, Anti-Oxidant, Vit C-Bomb, Anti-Stress, Endurance, Focus and Joint Support. The company says Herbal Lift energizes the body; Anti-Oxidant uses vitamins and extracts to combat free radicals; Vit C-Bomb offers vitamin C; Anti-Stress mellows the mind; Endurance provides sports nutrition; Focus keeps the mind sharp; and Joint Support cushions cartilage during a workout.
 
Alcohol energy
 
Wingard Inc. introduced R2 Energy Rum, T2 Energy Tequila and V2 Mint Energy Vodka. The bottles of R2, T2 and V2 retail for $29.99, $34.99 and $29.99, respectively. V2 Mint Energy Vodka, R2 Energy Rum and T2 Energy Tequila are infused with caffeine and taurine. The spirits contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. All of the products are 80 proof.
 
Potato vodka
 
Zodiac Spirits Inc. introduced Zodiac Potato Vodka. The product uses a four-column, 91-stage distillation process and the vodka is hand crafted in Idaho in small batches. It also uses birch charcoal filtration and Rocky Mountain spring water, which produces a neutral potato spirit, the company says. The company produced 12 bottle designs, one for each Zodiac sign. A 750-ml. bottle retails for $25.
 
Energy shooter
 
Bookoo Holdings Inc. and Circle K Southeast Division created an extension to Circle K’s GazZu energy drink line called the GazZu Shooter. It is a concentrated version of the original GazZu. The 2-ounce GazZu Shooter is available in Cherry, Orange Mango and Grape flavors. The shooter is available exclusively at Circle K locations throughout the Southeast and Midwest.
 
Kid’s juice
 
In Zone Brands Inc. unveiled 4-ounce packaging for its TummyTickler juice for toddlers. The new package is a “kid-grip” plastic bottle with a reusable character topper. The topper has a spill-proof valve that functions like a sippy cup and features characters from companies such as Disney and Scholastic, the company says. The TummyTickler 8+1 multipack features eight 4-ounce servings of 100 percent apple juice with no added sugar. TummyTickler 8+1 multipack is available in Target and regional grocers, and an 11+1 pack size can be found at Wal-Mart Supercenters nationwide.
 
High-proof absinthe
 
Pernod Ricard USA launched Pernod Absinthe. The high-proof spirit is distilled from Grand Wormwood, fennel and anise, and is 68 percent alcohol by volume. It also displays a light green hue. The launch of Pernod Absinthe follows the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms approval of the sale of absinthe in the United States after a 92-year ban. The product is available in a 750 ml. bottle with a retail price of $69.99.
