Capri Sun, a brand of Kraft Heinz Co., Chicago, announced the roll-out of its original juice drink pouches with an average of 40% less sugar than the current product. Each single serving now will have on average, 8 grams of total sugars and 5 gram of added sugars. All flavors will hit retailer shelves this August in new packaging highlighting the reduction.

San Francisco-based hint Inc. announced its new hint water for kids. Available in four fruit flavors — Watermelon, Cherry, Blackberry and Apple — the new line is packaged in 200-ml Tetra cartons. Hint waters are non-GMO certified and WHOLE30 approved. They are vegan, and contain no MSG, nuts, soy or gluten. Like all hint waters, the kids’ version is free from juice, sugar, diet sweeteners, colors, calories and preservatives, the company says.
Emerging food and beverage brands to participate in optimization program

PepsiCo Inc., Purchase, N.Y., announced the 10 emerging food and beverage brands that will join its first collaborative accelerator program in North America. Each of the 10 participating startups will receive $20,000 in grant funding and participate in a six-month business optimization program. The Nutrition Greenhouse program is designed to accelerate the growth of these startups with personalized mentorship from experts at some of PepsiCo's leading and emerging brands.
