Beverage operations require a myriad of energy support in the form of electricity, natural gas, water and other related categories referred to as utilities. Because utilities are absolute, beverage operators are constantly challenged with availability.

For the purpose of this discussion, water will be referred to as an ingredient, although across all segments of the beverage arena water might be labeled as a raw material.

The capacity of harnessing the energy potential of water has eluded many scientists. When the bonds of oxygen and hydrogen are broken through electrolysis, it creates unstable gases. Simply put, oxygen and hydrogen will not bind without a reaction that converts back to liquid water.

The documentary, debuting on the National Geographic channel, was commissioned by Stella Artois as a part of its Buy A Lady A Drink campaign, an ongoing partnership with Water.org to help provide clean water to people in the developing world, the company says. 

To address challenges faced by communities with little of no access to clean water, Voss Foundation was founded by the directors of Voss of Norway ASA as an independent nonprofit organization to address the availability of clean, safe water resources and hygiene in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Spirax Sarco, Blythewood, S.C., announced its latest training event:  Clean Steam Utilization Training.  This one-day course will take place Dec. 14 at Spirax Sarco’s training facility in Allentown, Pa., where participants will learn the fundamentals of steam and basic steam utilization throughout the entire steam and condensate loop.

Douglas Machine Inc. announced the expansion of its case packing equipment for the wine industry with the offering of a fully integrated, single-cell top-load case packer for wine bottles.

Charles Ross & Son Co. introduced large-scale, elliptical-head pressure vessels for use as carbon filter tanks. The 5,000-gallon stainless steel vessels are fabricated, designed and stamped for 100 psig at 230 degrees Fahrenheit in accordance with the ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1, the company says.
