$20 million investment equates to 11.7 percent ownership stake for DPS

Plano, Texas-based Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (DPS) has reached an agreement to make an equity investment in BA Sports Nutrition LLC, owner of BodyArmor SuperDrink, a line of premium sports drinks. The $20 million investment gives DPS an 11.7 percent ownership position in BA Sports Nutrition.
New York-based Castle Brands Inc., a developer and international marketer of premium and super-premium branded spirits, reported financial results for the fiscal quarter ended June 30.

Numerous packaging attributes are critical to consumers when making beverage choices, according to new data from the Washington, D.C.-based Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI). The research, which was conducted to support the new Open Up to Cans campaign, focuses on four core beverage can performance benefits: product taste and integrity, innovation, performance and sustainability, CMI says. The campaign promotes the aluminum can as a package for beverages.
Suffolk, U.K.-based Treatt revealed this summer’s hottest drink trends based on its latest independent research. Melons, blossoms, garden goodies and sophisticated mocktails are among the trending drink options the research found.

Keurig Green Mountain Inc., Waterbury, Vt., announced the launch of Green Mountain Coffee Reserve Colombia Tres Bourbon, a new ultra-premium coffee sourced exclusively from Colombia’s Caicedonia mountain range. Green Mountain Coffee Colombia Tres Bourbon also debuts a new look for the Reserve collection, such as new branding and a refreshed logo and packaging, the company says.
New whiskey is the second release in its Progressively Aged Rhetoric series

As bourbon continues to boom, whiskey enthusiasts are clamoring for new products to enjoy. To satisfy these whiskey consumers, Louisville, Ky.-based Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Co., a division of Diageo plc, released its Rhetoric 21-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The Boston Beer Co. Inc., Boston, reported second quarter 2015 net revenue of $252.2 million, an increase of $20.6 million or 9 percent versus the same period last year. This increase is mainly due to core shipment growth of 7 percent, the company says.
