The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), Alexandria, Va., and New York-based Beverage Marketing Corporation (BMC) announced that bottled water, for the second consecutive year, is the No. 1 beverage product in the United States, by volume. Bottled water volume grew to 13.7 billion gallons in 2017, a 7 percent increase over the previous year, BMC said in a statement. Bottled water sales now total $18.5 billion, an increase of 8.8 percent.

Arca Continental, Monterrey, Mexico, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers, announced that it will build a new production and distribution facility in Houston, Texas, through its subsidiary Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), the company said.

Dunkin’ Donuts, Canton, Mass., announced its newest beverage flavors for the summer season: Butter Pecan, Cookie Dough and Pistachio flavored coffees, and Original and Strawberry Frozen Lemonade. Last year, Dunkin’ Donuts asked America to vote on their favorite flavor among the brand’s most popular ice cream flavored coffees, with the chance to bring it back to the menu for summer 2018, the company said.

Simply Beverages, a brand of Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co., launched a new Simply Light line in four flavors: Simply Light Orange Pulp Free, Simply Light Orange with Calcium & Vitamin D, Simply Light Lemonade, and Simply Light Lemonade with Raspberry. “The new line of Simply Light beverages stays true to the delicious taste fans love, but with less sugar and fewer calories — it’s Simply, lightened up,” the company said in a statement.
