Spirits, wine and beer preferences will influence trends

At nearly 33 million, U.S. Hispanics of legal drinking age (LDA) are important adult beverage consumers, and their influence will expand rapidly, according to Chicago-based Technomic Inc.’s “Special Trends in Adult Beverage (TAB) Report: Hispanic Consumer Insights.” By 2015, Hispanics will account for 15 percent of the total U.S. LDA population; by 2045, one-quarter of the U.S. LDA population will be Hispanic, it reports.

Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines (DC&E), a Napa, Calif.-based division of London-based Diageo plc, added two Spanish wines to its portfolio of imports for the American market.
Terravant Wine Co. released its new Spin the Bottle wines with interactive labels. The label employs patented lenticular technology to make it appear as though the miniature bottle on the label is spinning as the potential consumer walks past it on the shelf, the company says.
Better Brands Beverage Co. launched Salute American Vodka, which is made from corn and wheat grains grown in the United States and distilled four times.
