There are few plays in basketball more exciting than the three-point shot. Taking inspiration from the game, Portland, Ore.-based Pyramid Breweries recently teamed up with the Portland Trail Blazers to create its newest, limited-edition beer – Reigning 3s. This unfiltered White Pale Ale is the company’s take on its own 3-pointer, using a combination of Cascade, Apollo and Lemon Drop hops. With 5.5 percent alcohol by volume, this beer rates 30 on the international bitter unit (IBU) scale. Due to limited availability fans will have to travel to "Rip City" to get a shot of this brew, the company says.
Agreement unites two distributors as Breakthru Beverage Group

New York-based Charmer Sunbelt Group and Wirtz Beverage Group, Chicago, two family-run distributors of wine, spirits and beer, announced on Oct. 20 that the companies signed an agreement to substantially combine all of their beverage alcohol operations.

Merger would combine brewers’ expansive beer portfolios

The Boards of Anheuser Busch InBev (AB InBev), Leuven, Belgium, and SABMiller plc, London, announced that they have reached agreement in principle on the key terms of a possible recommended offer to be made by AB InBev for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of SABMiller.
Following recent press speculation, Leuven, Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has submitted a new proposal to the Board of SABMiller plc, London, to combine the two beer companies.
