PepsiCo launched Tava, a line of zero-calorie, caffeine-free sparkling beverages. Targeting “primetimers” men and women between the ages of 35 and 49, the beverages contain vitamin E, B3, B6 and chromium. Tava is available in three flavor combinations: Brazilian Samba (Passion Fruit Lime), Mediterranean Fiesta (Black Cherry Citrus) and Tahitian Tamure (Tropical Berry Blend). The sparkling beverages are packaged in 16.9-ounce PET bottles (suggested retail price: $1.49) and 12-ounce cans in four-packs (suggested retail price: $2.99
Tropicana Products, a division of PepsiCo Inc., released Tropicana Pure Valencia, a premium 100 percent orange juice. Crafted from the top 3 percent of Tropicana’s Florida orange harvest, Tropicana Pure Valencia contains the juice from select Valencia oranges, the company says. Fewer than 15 percent of Tropicana’s 400 groves qualify as potential sources for Valencia oranges for Tropicana’s Pure Valencia. From these, only the medium-sized oranges with the right taste profile are used for Tropicana Pure Valencia, the company says. Pure Valencia is complemented with Pure Valencia Pulp and four other premium 100 percent juices. Raspberry Acai, Pomegranate Blueberry, Indian River Grapefruit and Peach Papya Mango are available in 1-liter hourglass shaped bottles, and Pure Valencia is bottled in a 54-ounce size. All of the varieties sell for $4.49. Tropicana Pure Valencia, Pomegranate Blueberry, Raspberry Acai and Peach Papaya Mango also are available in 12-ounce sizes for $2.49.
Attitude Drink Co. unveiled Vis Viva, an energy drink with the “functional activator” Iqzol. Vis Viva is specifically formulated with Iqzol to deliver level energy, improved focus and enhanced clarity without an energy crash, the company says. Each 12-ounce can contains 25 calories, 6 grams of carbohydrates, no added sodium or sugar and a caffeine content that is approximately half that of a cup of coffee. The energy drink also features vitamins C, B3, B5, B6 and B12.
Wild East Soda Co. launched a line of energy drinks of the same name. Wild East Soda contains Korean ginseng, and uses ginseng to provide the energy boost. Available in Ginseng, Orange, Grape, Lemon-Lime and Cola flavors, Wild East Soda is packed in 12-ounce cans for a suggested retail price between $1.19 and $1.29; 12-ounce glass bottles for $1.29 to $1.79 and 20-ounce PET bottles that are price between $1.59 and $2.29.

Play Beverages LLC, a licensee of Playboy Enterprises International Inc., in partnership with Cirtran Beverage Corp., created Playboy Energy Drink. With notes of fruit and vanilla, the formula contains ginseng root, guarana extract and damiana leaf, which are ingredients that are believed to stimulate energy levels, the company says. Available in regular and sugar-free varieties, Playboy Energy is available in Boston, Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. An 8.4-ounce can sells for $1.99.
Diageo expanded its line of Smirnoff flavored vodkas with Passion Fruit and White Grape varieties. The two additions join the other existing 11 Smirnoff flavored vodkas, and are prepared using the same triple distillation and filtration process. Available in 50-ml., 200-ml., 375-ml., 750-ml., 1-liter and 1.75 liter bottles, the 750-ml. size is priced at $14.99.
Nantze Springs Inc. entered the energy drink category with Fresh Start Energy Beverage. The non-carbonated, vitamin-enhanced drinks contain taurine for energy. Available in Grapefruit, Mountain Berry and Lemon Lime varieties, Fresh Start is sugar free and contains zero calories. The energy drink is packaged in 16.9-ounce bottles and retails for $1.59.
Naked Juice Co., a subsidiary of PepsiCo, expanded its line of products with Naked Juice Bare Breeze, a super-premium, 100 percent juice with no added sugar or preservatives. Containing no seeds or pulp, the smoother juices are lighter to consumers’ palates and refreshing for the summer months, the company says. Available in Watermelon Chill and Peach Mangosteen Bliss, the Bare Breeze products feature watermelon and mangosteen, which are a first for Naked Juice. The lighter flavored juices are packaged in 15.2-ounce bottles and contain three servings of fruit, vitamin C, B6 and B12. A bottle retails for $3.19.
