Los Angeles, Calif.-based The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf announced it is returning to New York City through a new franchisee, Hudson River Coffee & Tea, and plans to open 100 new stores across New York, beginning with Manhattan later this year. "The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has never wavered from delivering quality and innovative coffees and teas from around the world,” said Pinchas Shapiro, chief executive officer of Hudson River Coffee & Tea, in a statement.
Company launches redesigned packaging, new espresso beverages

Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's USA relaunched its McCafé experience, introducing a new look, new café-quality espresso beverages and expanded retail offerings. The move is part of a commitment by McDonald's to raise the bar for its consumers by offering them All Day Breakfast; Chicken McNuggets made with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives; McDelivery; and more, the company says.

DPS distribution partnership brings High Brew to 5 major cities

Austin, Texas-based High Brew Coffee, a company known for its ready-to-drink (RTD) cold-brew coffees, announced a Series A-2 investment of $4 million from Austin, Texas-based CAVU Venture Partners, a recently-launched fund focused on investment and incubation in healthy food and beverage companies. Additionally, High Brew Coffee announced a new distribution partnership with Plano, Texas-based Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS), which will include expanded distribution in key markets, it says.

Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc., Canton, Mass., The J.M. Smucker Company, Orrville, Ohio, and Keurig Green Mountain, Inc., Waterbury, Vt., announced that Dunkin' K-Cup pods are now available for sale at thousands of retailers nationwide for the first time, the companies say. As part of an agreement between the three companies first announced in February, Smucker will distribute and market Dunkin' K-Cup pods exclusively to grocery chains, mass merchandisers, club stores, drug stores, dollar stores and home improvement stores. Keurig will distribute and market Dunkin' K-Cup pods exclusively to specialty stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl's and Macy's, as well as office supply retailers such as Staples and Office Depot beginning this summer.
