Matt Brewing Co. offices in Utica, N.Y., visitors are greeted with Victorian-era furnishings, including an old bank teller counter with a slanted bottom to accommodate women’s hoop skirts. Historic furnishings like this continue throughout the 400,000-square-foot campus. However, despite its historical appearance, the facility offers many modern touches.
New hard cider capitalizes on popularity of IPAs and seasonal beers

Vermont Hard Cider Co. LLC, Middlebury, Vt., released its new Woodchuck Hopped Apple hard cider exclusively on draft in bars, pubs and restaurants across the United States.
Treatt expanded its range of 100 percent natural distillates with the launch of Cascade Hop Treattarome 9305, an unmodified hop essence distilled exclusively from Humulus lupus. A clear, water-based liquid, Cascade Hop Treattarome confers a strong, hoppy aroma and taste to beer, according to the company.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Stone Ruination IPA, Stone Brewing Co. doubled the amount of hops to 5 pounds per barrel and increased the alcohol by volume to 10.8 percent for the anniversary edition, it says.
