Founded in 2013 by local entrepreneurs Pete and Vienna Barger, Southern Distilling Co., Statesville, N.C., offers a broad range of contract distilling services for domestic and foreign brand owners, distilleries and retailers including custom distilling, warehousing, and bottling/packaging services.

Portland, Ore.-based Eastside Distilling Inc., a producer of hand-crafted spirits, announced the acquisition of MotherLode Craft Distillery, also based in Portland, Ore., and a provider of bottling services and production support to craft distilleries. Since its founding in 2014 by Allen Barteld, the mission of MotherLode has been to enable craft distillers to increase their production and extend their product lines, reducing cost and increasing efficiency, thereby freeing them to focus on their craft, the company says. The typical MotherLode customer is a distillery of small batch, hand-crafted spirits, or a premium craft spirit sold as a private label, it adds.

Venturi Brands LLC now offers its Vicomte Single Malt French Whisky in select markets. 

Expanding on its portfolio of craft spirits, Union Horse Distilling Co. launched Reunion Straight Rye Whiskey and Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey. 

Bespoke Spirits announced the addition of Makar Glasgow Gin to its spirits portfolio. 

Sonoma Cider announced the addition of a spirit to its portfolio: Apple Brandy, a Calvados-inspired organic brandy that launched May 1 and is the company’s first foray into the craft spirits market, it says. 

Hood River Distillers added Trails End Bourbon to its portfolio. 

To continue its commitment to creating craft spirits, Lenexa, Kan.-based Union Horse Distilling Co. released Reunion Straight Rye Whiskey and Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey to market.
