Gevalia, a brand of Northfield, Ill.-based Kraft Foods Group Inc., announced the introduction of its single-serve, café-style coffee beverages for use in the Keurig K-Cup brewer, a product of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Waterbury, Vt.
It’s amazing how much can change in a year’s time. As our staff began compiling Beverage Industry’s list of the Top 100 beverage companies (page 24), I realized the magnitude of changes that have taken place in the beverage realm within the last year.
Kraft Foods Inc., Northfield, Ill., reported strong fourth quarter and full year 2011 results, driven by revenue growth, effective cost management and focused investments in the company’s iconic brands, the company said. However, the company’s net revenues for U.S. beverages were $725 million in the fourth quarter, down 3.2 percent. For the full year, U.S. beverages net revenue was $3 billion, a 6.4 percent decrease.
Kraft Foods Inc., Northfield, Ill., and SodaStream International Ltd., Airport City, Israel, formed a strategic partnership for the manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sale of Kraft Foods branded flavors for use with the SodaStream soda-making system.
Previously available online only, Gevalia coffee will be available in retailers in the United States for the first time in January through Kraft Foods Inc.
