Golan Heights Winery announced its latest release: Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2021.
The Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 release marks the 39th vintage of the flagship Cabernet of Golan Heights Winery. This Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from carefully selected grapes in the Golan Heights, considered Israel’s finest wine-growing region, the company says. Under the guidance of Head Winemaker Victor Schoenfeld, the 2021 vintage highlights the winery’s commitment to precision viticulture, revealing the intricate complexity of the Golan Heights’ natural conditions: unique volcanic soils, winter snowstorms, long hot summer days, and cool nights, it notes.
“2021 was a remarkable vintage, and our fantastic team rose to the challenge of confronting unusual weather conditions and the shadow of the pandemic,” says Victor Schoenfeld, head winemaker of Golan Heights Winery, in a statement. “We strive to achieve winemaking excellence with every vintage, constantly pushing the boundaries of what our vineyards can produce and redefining Israeli winemaking. Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of exceptional quality that truly reflects the best of our vineyards and winemaking philosophy.”
The 2021 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromatic ripe red and black fruit notes with hints of earth, tobacco, herb, spice, chote, and nuanced anise, the company notes. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels to add complexity and depth, the wine shows full body and concentrated flavor, it says. While drinkable upon release, 2021 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon will continue improving in the bottle for 10 years and more, it adds.
Packaged in 750-ml bottles, the 2021 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon now is available to purchase for a suggested retail price of $45 a bottle.
