Edrington Distillers Ltd. added Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition Blended Scotch Whisky to its portfolio. Imported into the United States by Rémy Cointreau USA Inc., the whisky harkens back to the brand’s origin during the Prohibition era. Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition salutes Captain William McCoy, who historically smuggled Cutty Sark into American speakeasies, thereby giving the whisky the nickname, “The Real McCoy.” The bottle’s black, opaque design and cork seal also refer back to the type of whisky bottles prevalent during the Prohibition era. Containing 50 percent alcohol by volume, Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition Blended Scotch Whisky is handcrafted in Scotland in small batches from top-quality grain and single-malt whiskies and matured in American Oak casks. A 750-ml bottle currently retails for approximately $29.99 in select markets, but distribution will expand nationwide throughout the year.
