The TBS comedy “Cougar Town,” starring Courteney Cox, is preparing to make its return to TV on Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. Eastern time by promoting its characters’ drink of choice: wine. To kick off the fifth season of the show and help combat the global wine shortage, TBS partnered with the wine-discovery mobile app Drync to award 2,500 fans Drync gift certificates for two bottles of wine.

A week before the premiere, TBS invited fans to download the free Drync app. From Jan. 7 to 14, it will release secret gift certificate codes daily to be redeemed for two bottles of wine via Drync.

"Working with TBS on this unique and creative promotion for ‘Cougar Town’ was a natural fit," said Brad Rosen, chief executive officer of Drync, in a statement. "This partnership introduces [the show’s] social, wine-loving audience to a revolutionary way of buying and enjoying wine. We are proud to help ‘Cougar Town’ fans get ahead of this disturbing wine shortage.”

Tricia Melton, senior vice president of entertainment marketing and branding for TBS, added: "’Cougar Town’ fans are primed for all kinds of wine-soaked fun, making this promotion with Drync a perfect fit. This is a great way for fans to celebrate the launch of [the show’s] fifth season."

In addition to the free wine promotion, Emmy-winning TV host, author and founder of thirstygirl.com Leslie Sbrocco is lending her expertise and love of wine surrounding the launch of the show’s new season. Sbrocco will offer wine tips, wine pairings and advice on how to throw a wine-tasting party the “Cougar Town” way.
