Lausanne, Switzerland-based Nespresso announced that its Nespresso Professional brand launched Peru Organic, the first certified organic Nespresso coffee, it says. The addition of Peru Organic is part of a revamp of the brand's Professional Origins coffee range, which includes three other single-origin coffees sourced from Brazil, Guatemala and India. All four are designed for Nespresso Professional coffee machines, including the recently launched Nespresso Momento machine range.

Veteran and firefighter owned coffee company, Fire Department Coffee, Rockford, Ill., unveiled its new extra strength coffee with two times the caffeine. The highly caffeinated dark roast coffee, Stipe Miocic Extra Strength Coffee, contains 333 mg of caffeine — more than double the caffeine of a regular 8-ounce cup, the company says. The new coffee is named after five-time mixed martial arts heavyweight champion and firefighter Stipe Miocic.

Westrock Coffee purchases coffee, tea supplier for $405M

Cott Corp., Tampa, Fla., continues its transition into a pure-play water solutions provider with its announcement that it has entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Cott will sell S&D Coffee and Tea to Westrock Coffee Co. LLC for $405 million on a debt free and cash free basis, subject to a customary working capital adjustment, it says.
Inginias LLC has released Cafello, a premium sparkling espresso soda. During production, the coffee is mixed with sparkling water, which helps remove the bitter and sour notes associated with coffee, the company says.
