Jupiler is now “colder longer” thanks to Ardagh’s new can design

To keep beer “colder for longer,” Jupiler Belgian beer partnered with Ardagh to create a can that has a ribbed texture, which helps keep the beer cold, the company says. Ardagh developed a new tooling technique to achieve defined debossed flutes in the walls of the 333-cl (11.16-ounce) and 500-cl (16.9-ounce) Jupiler cans. The resulting “ribs” disrupt the flow of air along the can body and reduce contact with the hand, which keeps the beer colder for longer, it explains.
