Defiant whisky

Blue Ridge Distilling Co. Inc. launched Defiant whisky in North Carolina, Virginia and Rhode Island. The whisky is made with a specially cultured yeast, two-row barley, and pure mountain spring water sourced from an aquifer located underneath the distillery. It is then toasted using American white oak spirals instead of barrels, which create a smoother finish, the company says. Containing 41 percent alcohol by volume, a 750-ml bottle of the American single-malt whisky has a suggested retail price of $54.95.
