Back in the late ‘50s and ‘60s, talking beer stein characters Schultz and Dooley promoted the mellow taste and naturalness of Utica Club lager in TV commercials. At the time, the brand was a strong regional competitor produced in Utica, N.Y., by West End Brewing Co., which is known today as F.X. Matt Brewing Co.

 Oskar Blues Brewery expanded the availability of its home-brewed root beer from its restaurants by bottling it in Alumi-Tek bottles from Ball Corp.  

In its first redesign in more than 20 years, Barq’s Root Beer, a brand of The Coca-Cola Co., unveiled a completely new look to pay homage to the brand’s Gulf Coast heritage and classically crisp, bold flavor. 

Under its GuS – Grown-up Soda brand, Utmost Brands Inc. launched Dry Root Beer.

Sazerac Co. expanded its Dr. McGillicuddy’s line of spirits with four new flavors: Apple Pie, Root Beer, Wild Grape and Ice Mint.
